🎉 GRANDPARENTS, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU! 🎉 💜 The Hoven PTA is SO excited to invite all grandparents of students in Pre-K through 6th grade to join their grandchild for a very special LUNCH WITH GRANDPARENTS! 🥰🍎 📅 Tuesday, September 8th – Friday, September 11th ⏰ 11:10–11:40 a.m. 📍 Hoven School Commons Area/Lunchroom Come enjoy some lunch, make memories, and spend a little extra time with your favorite student! 💕👵👴 🍕 Each day has a different lunch menu, so pick the day that works best for you! 📞 PLEASE CALL AHEAD! Our cooks need to know how many guests to prepare for. Please call Kim at (605) 948-2252 at least ONE DAY BEFORE you plan to attend (or sooner!). ✨ And the best part?! ✨ Lunch is ON US! 🐾Hoven School District Hall of Fame – Inaugural Induction Ceremony

The first annual Hoven School District Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held prior to the Homecoming football game on September 18th, at 5:45 PM, as we honor Chuck Seurer.

We invite ALL former players, colleagues, friends, family, alumni, and supporters to join us in celebrating this special honor and recognizing Chuck’s incredible legacy as a student, athlete, coach, employee, and lifelong supporter of the Hoven School District and Hoven Greyhounds.

Please help us spread the word and share this with anyone who knows Chuck, played for him, worked alongside him, or was impacted by his dedication to our school and community.

Congratulations to Mayla Bengs for earning a seat in the 2026 Elementary Honor Choir! Elementary Honor Choir will take place October 31, 2026 in Rapid City. This year's choir is made up of 130 singers from across the state, selected from over 500 auditions. EHC is sponsored by the South Dakota Music Education Association. Congratulations, Mayla!

On Wednesday, April 29, the National Honor Society held its Candle Lighting Induction Ceremony inducting six students to join the Hoven Chapter of the NHS. Those inducted were Raquel Mitzel Kaup (Brandon and Alicia Kaup and Ed Mitzel), Gage Kaiser (Lance and Barb Kaiser), Ava Hartung (Jess and Kindra Hartung), Wyatt Huber (Jesse Huber and Amber Huber), Jordan Kaiser (Mike and Amanda Kaiser) and Bethney Schwingler (Michael Schwingler and Amber DeRouchey). In order to be eligible to apply for induction, students must meet the requirements of a minimum of a 3.2 cumulative GPA, complete all application requirements, and receive majority staff approval. This year’s officers were President Jaxon Hartung, Vice President and Historian Casey Hageman, Secretary/Treasurer Addison Griese; and Keeper of the Seal Dannika Kaup.

Congratulations to our NHS students on earning this distinguished achievement and exemplifying the epitome of the NHS through scholarship, leadership, character and service. 💙💛

🌱📚 2nd Grade “Jack and the Beanstalk” Fun! 🌱📚 Our 2nd graders have been busy bringing Jack and the Beanstalk to life with their very own planting projects! Each student planted seeds and is excitedly waiting to see if their beanstalks will grow tall and strong. 🌿✨ Parents: These projects will be coming home once they (hopefully!) sprout, so you can plant them and continue the fun at home. 🌼

Hoven Elementary Track & Field Day will be on Friday, May 1st from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Hoven track/field (weather permitting). Students in grades preschool through 6th grade will participate in field events and running events. Students and staff in grades 7-12 have organized the events and will be running the track and field day events.

Everyone is welcome to come watch at the football field/track!
